• About Full Stack Software Engineer at Lablup

  A Full Stack Software Engineer at Lablup owns and develops Backend.AI FastTrack. Among the components of Backend.AI, FastTrack is the one built to be a traceable, reproducible, and fully automated MLOps platform: it organizes and manages compute sessions as pipelines to guarantee the reproducibility of experiments, and chains multiple tasks together so that everything from model training to deployment runs as a single pipeline. From the training of foundation models in Korea to model serving for enterprise customers, you will build a platform that is put to real use across a wide range of environments, and broaden your technical perspective as you do.

• Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new Backend.AI FastTrack features across the full stack, from frontend to backend.
    • You will work on the areas where customer workloads actually run: pipeline execution, per-stage resource allocation, dependency management, and model deployment.
  • Reproduce issues raised by users and enterprise customers, identify the root cause, and fix them.
  • Maintain compatibility across versions as APIs, schemas, and pipeline definitions evolve, and improve the upgrade and migration experience.
  • Distill the needs and constraints that come up repeatedly in the field, and build them into the product's direction.
• Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent experience through internships, open-source contributions, or personal projects
  • Ability to read code and judge for yourself how it behaves and whether it is correct (experience with any particular language or framework is not required)
  • Interest in MLOps, and the ability to learn an unfamiliar domain quickly and make it your own
  • Experience setting your own scope and driving a project through to completion when the requirements were not clearly defined
  • Proficiency in reading and writing technical documentation in English
  • Ability to communicate on technical topics in spoken English
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using or operating MLOps platforms or pipeline tools
  • Experience with workload scheduling or distributed systems
