Lablup announced to participate in KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2024, which will be held in Salt Lake City from November 12 to 15. At this event, Lablup will showcase the latest version (24.09) of Backend.AI, along with its new journey toward a user-friendly frontend, WebUI Neo.

Backend.AI 24.09 was developed with the aim of managing ultra-large-scale GPU and AI accelerator clusters and enhancing system visibility through integration with Cloud Native. Starting with this version, Backend.AI supports Prometheus-format metric outputs, enabling users to easily connect various metrics managed by Backend.AI to dashboard solutions such as Grafana.

With 24.09, Backend.AI addresses limitations in the existing Docker network stack by adopting Cilium. This integration reduces dependency on Docker, improves the stability and throughput of container-to-container networks, and meets the demands of various container runtimes in the market.

Backend.AI is set to integrate fine-grained Kubernetes control by 2025, evolving into an acceleration-first, container-based AI infrastructure operating system that fully embraces the Cloud Native ecosystem.

WebUI Neo reimagines Backend.AI, traditionally function-focused, with a user-centered approach. It features an interface that enhances user feedback, clearly representing statuses through color, making Backend.AI’s wide array of functionalities more accessible in a streamlined, logical interface. WebUI Neo is expected to be released within 2024.
